The UAE told the UN Human Rights Council on Wednesday that Iran's "treacherous" and "terrorist" attacks targeting vital civilian areas constitutes a "blatant violation of the state's sovereignty and international humanitarian law".
In a statement, UAE Permanent Representative to the UN, Jamal Jama Al Musharakh, highlighted how Iran's "reckless behaviour undermines the foundations of the international order" by targetting "infrastructure linked to the safety of civilians, energy security, the global economy, and international supply chains".
On the 26th day of the attacks, the UAE has been targetted by 357 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,815 drones.
He told the UN body that Iran has targetted its neighbours "that have repeatedly called for and made strenuous efforts over the past months to avoid the escalation", calling out the "stark contradiction between Iran’s flimsy narratives about good neighbourliness and its actions on the ground".
The "terrorist aggression", Al Musharakh, added that killed three members of the UAE armed forces and six civilians, and injured 166 people.
He explained that the "repercussions of these brutal attacks extend beyond the region", threatening "vital waterways, including the Strait of Hormuz" and undermining "the stability of energy markets and global supply chains", and increasing "economic and social pressures".
The UAE has urged the UN Human Rights Council to "take a firm step towards condemning human rights violations resulting from Iran’s illegitimate attacks" on its neighbours.
