More than 5.8 million people around the world have benefitted from the work of social entrepreneurs supported by Expo 2020 Dubai's innovation and partnership programme.
The initiative called ‘Expo Live’ has backed 140 individuals and enterprises with grants of between $100,000 and $500,000 in critical areas such as agriculture, education, healthcare and employment.
This includes farmers, traders, students, teachers, doctors, patients and people of determination who have benefitted from the work of 140 social entrepreneurs supported under EXPO 2020 Dubai’s Expo Live.
Yousuf Caires, Senior Vice President for Expo Live, explains how it has impacted the lives of millions.
Projects within the programme have since helped more than one million individuals worldwide receive medical assistance and counselling, playing a crucial role in communities during the pandemic.
Agricultural innovations have improved the livelihoods of 760,000 farmers worldwide, with 611,000 individuals also given a chance to advance their education and upskill thanks to new ways of sharing content online and offline.
Since 2016, and following a thorough, comprehensive evaluation process over five selection cycles, the Expo Live Innovation Impact Grant Programme shortlisted and awarded grants between $100,000 and $500,000 to organisations from 76 countries.
