One person has been injured after a small civilian aircraft crashed into one of the external parking lots of Sheikh Zayed Mosque in the UAE capital.
Teams from Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence are currently responding to the incident.
Initial investigations revealed that the Cessna Caravan suffered a technical malfunction as it was attempting to land at Al Bateen Private Airport.
The pilot has been shifted to a hospital to treat minor injuries.
the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) the site has been secured and an investigation launched into the incident.
The authority urged the public to only obtain information from official sources.
Initial investigations from the incident scene have found the light aircraft, a Cessna Caravan, crashed due to a technical malfunction. The pilot was taken to hospital for medical treatment for a minor injury. No other injuries or casualties were reported.
