Ras Al Khaimah International Airport has helped more than 53,000 Indian citizens return home since the beginning of June.
They were repatriated on nearly 300 special charter flights to 21 destinations across India.
The operations were carried out in coordination with the Indian Government and SpiceJet airline, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
Sheikh Saud had also issued a directive to cover the cost of transport to the airport for any Indian expatriate looking to return home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The UAE is sparing no effort to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all its people and Ras Al Khaimah is part of the country’s drive to be at the forefront of the global response to this pandemic," said Sheikh Saud.
"Our Emirate is a longstanding friend of the Indian government and its honourable people and we are always ready to help," His Highness added.
