Rainfall in various regions of the UAE on Friday reached significant levels due to the unstable weather conditions, with Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman and Al Ain recording the highest accumulations, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Yanas Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah topped 244mm, followed by Manama in Ajman with 234.7mm, Al Hayer in Al Ain with 234.1mm, Mebreh Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah with 229.7mm, and Khatam Alshaklah in Al Ain with 226.6mm.
Overnight temperatures also dropped markedly, as cooler conditions and strong winds followed the wet weather, with a minimum of 5.6 degrees Celsius at Jebel Jais, 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
The NCM issued an alert on Saturday for fresh to strong northwesterly winds reaching 45 km/h along the western coast, and rough to very rough conditions in the Arabian Gulf, with waves reaching three metres at times, until 10:00 a.m. Monday.
