Over 100,000 Emiratis are working the private sector for the first time, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai has announced.
In a post on social media Sheikh Mohammed said: "I reviewed the results of the Emiratisation strategy in the private sector in the UAE. For the first time in the country's history, the number of Emiratis working in the private sector has exceeded 100,000.

"70,000 of them joined in the last two and a half years following the launch of the Nafis programme by my brother, the President of the UAE, with generous support amounting to AED 24 billion, and the introduction of many supportive and incentivising legislations for Emiratisation in the private sector, along with the rapid economic growth in our country."
Plans have also been announced to add a further 100,000 new jobs in the coming three years.
As part of the 2021 UAE Nafis programme, 10 per cent of all private sector jobs aim to be occupied by Emiratis by the end of 2026.
