Commuters are asking the Roads and Transport Authority to provide Salik-free hours on Sheikh Zayed Road. A “chat with RTA” hour was hosted on Twitter, where many UAE commuters voiced their concern over the toll prices. Some enquired about the possibility for Salik charges to be exempt during off-peak hours on Sheikh Zayed Road. A similar policy is currently applied on Al Maktoum Bridge, where there are no costs between 10 pm and 6 am from Saturday to Thursday, and until 9 am on Friday.
