Motorists will not need to pay to use public parking slots in Sharjah during the Eid Al Fitr holidays.
Making the announcement on social media, the Sharjah Municipality said the "public parking users will be exempt from paying parking fees from the first day of Eid till Thursday, May 5".
Zones that are marked with a blue sign will continue to be paid. These zones are subject to fees on all seven days of the week, including Fridays and public holidays, the authority reminded.
This year, Eid Al Fitr is expected to fall either on Sunday, May 1, or Monday, May 2, depending on the sighting of the new moon.
