The UAE and Kosovo have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on mutual exemption of visa requirements for holders of ordinary, diplomatic, special and mission passports.

Under this agreement, UAE nationals holding passports with a validity of at least six months are allowed to enter the Balkan nation without a visa and stay there for up to 90 days per visit.

Citizens of Kosovo are also allowed visa-free entry into the UAE.

The MoU was signed by Khaled Abdullah Belhoul, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Xhabir Hamiti, the Ambassador of Kosovo to the UAE.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, Kosovo's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the agreement.

During a telephone call, the two ministers emphasised the importance of this step in strengthening bilateral relations in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two countries and their people.

They also discussed the situation in the Balkans and a number of issues of common interest, including strengthening the international response to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
