The UAE has completed its latest space project, Etihad-SAT, which is set to launch in March 2025.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, announced the completion of the project.
The advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite has been developed through a strategic collaboration between the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre and South Korea’s Satrec Initiative.
Etihad-SAT features cutting-edge imaging technology that will enable high-precision observation in all weather conditions.
In his statement, Sheikh Hamdan emphasised the UAE’s ambitious vision for the space sector, highlighting the role of the nation's youth in driving the country’s global leadership in space exploration.
He added that this project is a key step toward a brighter future, with the UAE continuing to push the boundaries of space exploration.
