Foreign Ministers of the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have voiced concern over Israel's plans for a one-way opening of the Rafah Crossing for Palestinians to leave Gaza.
The plan only allows Palestinians to enter Egypt but doesn’t allow them to return to Gaza.
In a joint statement, the ministers rejected any attempts by Israel to displace Gazans from their land and stressed the need to adhere to US President Donald Trump's peace plan that outlines the need to open the Rafah Crossing in both directions.
Instead of stopping Palestinians from returning, efforts must be taken to ensure they have the right to rebuild their land, and lives, the ministers stressed, adding the importance of fully implementing the “Trump Plan” without "delay or obstruction, in order to achieve security and peace, and to consolidate the foundations of regional stability".
They also underscored the need to ensure that the ceasefire is maintained and entry of crucial humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip remains unhindered.
The ministers backed all UNSC resolutions that outlines the ground for achieving the two-state solution that establishes an independent Palestinian State, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
