UAE leaders offer condolences to Pakistan over PIA crash

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a cable to Pakistani President Dr Arif Alvi offering his condolences following the tragic plane crash.

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane ploughed into a residential neighbourhood as it approached the Karachi airport on Friday.

There were 97 fatalities and two survivors.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, dispatched similar condolences to the Pakistani President.
