UAE opens entries for 'Great Arab Minds' with AED 6 million prize purse

The UAE has officially launched the second edition of the 'Great Arab Minds' initiative, often referred to as the 'Arab Nobel Prize'.

This initiative aims to recognize Arabs who have made extraordinary contributions to humanity and seeks to reignite the Arab world's historical spirit of scientific inquiry and leadership.

Awards will be presented in six categories: medicine, engineering and technology, economics, natural sciences, architecture and design, and literature and arts.

Nominations for individuals and institutions are open until October 31, 2024, and can be submitted online.

The second edition will recognize six winners, with a total prize pool of AED 6 million, each winner receiving AED 1 million.

Nominations undergo extensive evaluation based on comprehensive criteria, including the achievement itself, evidenced results, certificates, patents, publications, books, research, and projects.

The judging panels include ministers, officials, experts and specialists from across the world.
