The UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.
The two leaders discussed their strong bilateral ties and cooperation, with a particular focus on enhancing the comprehensive economic partnership between the two nations.
King Abdullah’s visit to the UAE capital is part of a broader brotherly trip to strengthen ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, the leaders reviewed key regional and international issues, especially the situation in Gaza and Lebanon.
They emphasised the urgent need for a ceasefire in both places, ensuring the protection of civilians in line with international humanitarian law, and delivering essential humanitarian aid to those affected.
Sheikh Mohamed and King Abdullah also reiterated their shared commitment to Lebanon's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, expressing solidarity with the Lebanese people.
They discussed efforts to prevent further escalation in the Middle East, which they warned could threaten the region’s stability, and underscored the importance of a lasting peace through a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
