The UAE has launched a major initiative to train specialised volunteers for emergency response.
The 'National Programme for Developing Specialised Volunteer Cadres for Emergency Response' is designed to boost the country's preparedness and response to emergencies and disasters.
It is organised by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) in partnership with the Emirates Foundation.
The programme will train volunteers across key areas essential to national emergency efforts.
The training is structured in three phases, with the 'foundational phase' providing basic training for volunteers, the 'specialised phase' focusing on specific skill areas, and the 'practical phase' offering hands-on exercises to apply the skills learned.
"By training a specialised volunteer workforce, we ensure that we are prepared to provide immediate and effective support during crises," said Ali Rashid Al Neyadi, Director-General of NCEMA.
