The UAE has welcomed calls for a humanitarian truce in Sudan, made by members of the UN Security Council, for the holy month of Ramadan and rejects "false allegations against the UAE" made by the Sudanese representative at the UN.
In a statement released, on Friday, on X, the Permanent Mission of the UAE to the United Nations in New York said the UAE reiterated that it has been advocating for a pause during the holy month, and is collaborating with regional, African and international partners to provide humanitarian assistance.

The statement adds that it is: “unacceptable that the Sudanese representative at the UN persists with futile attempts to distract the Security Council from the gross violations of international humanitarian law being committed on the ground by continuing to make false allegations against the UAE.”
The statement goes on to say that “the UAE’s position is on record, and has been clear, consistent and unambiguous since the outbreak of the conflict.”
The UAE also called for humanitarian aid to be allowed into Sudan, unhindered, and for talks to take place to reach a permanent ceasefire.
