Conor McGregor announces his third retirement on Twitter

Former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor has announced his retirement from the sport on social media on Sunday.

"Hey guys I've decided to retire from fighting. Thank you all for the amazing memories! What a ride it's been!" the Irishman wrote after a posting a picture of him and his mother.

"Here is a picture of myself and my mother in Las Vegas post one of my World title wins! Pick the home of your dreams Mags I love you! Whatever you desire it’s yours," he added.

This is the third time the 31-year-old has announced his retirement. The first was in April 2016, and the second in March 2019.
