Ian Poulter is hoping to end a long, hard season on a high with victory at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. The World No50 shot a bogey free 66 on the opening day to take the early clubhouse lead on 6 under par. Poulter’s feat was made even more impressive by the fact he needed a painkilling injection in his foot before his opening round and failed to birdie any of the three Par 5s.
