Thiem beats Nadal in Barcelona semis

Rafael Nadal has been beaten by Dominic Thiem in the semi-finals of the Barcelona Open.

The loss ends the Spaniard's hopes of extending his own record of winning an ATP tournament for the 12th time.

Thiem will now meet 23-year-old Daniil Medvedev in Sunday's final.

Play is expected to get underway at 6:00 pm UAE time.
