UAE lose out on T20 World Cup spot

The UAE’s Twenty20 World Cup dream has ended after losing to Scotland by 90 runs in the qualifying playoff in Dubai.

Chasing a massive total of 198-6, the hosts were dismissed for 108 in 18.3 overs.

Meanwhile, Oman are through to next year’s tournament following a 12-run win over Hong Kong.

They posted a modest score of 134-7 and then restricted Hong Kong to 122-9.
