Death toll rises in ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza

AFP

The death toll as a result of the ongoing Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank has risen to at least 926 people, with over 4,650 injured.

Authorities in Gaza say Israel's block of electricity and water to the area is a danger for the wounded, the sick, public health and the environment.

Israeli media say the number of Israeli deaths in the violence has reached 1,200, with more than 200 Israelis believed to be detained in the Gaza Strip.

The first plane carrying advanced American ammunition to Israel has arrived and another US aircraft carrier is expected to arrive in the Middle East in the next two weeks.
