Egypt announces third case of COVID-19

Egypt has confirmed its third case of the coronavirus.

According to Egypt's Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Egyptian national diagnosed with COVID-19 came from Serbia after transiting for 12 hours in France. 

The 44-year-old tested positive when he was taken to the hospital upon his arrival. 

He has now been quarantined and is being monitored by medical staff.

State hospitals and medical institutions in the country are also on high alert should more cases arise.
