'Empire' actor charged with filing false police report

Authorities in Chicago say the actor Jussie Smollett is suspected of filing a false police report. 

The Empire actor said he was the subject of a racist attack in January. 

The actor's lawyers said they would "conduct a thorough investigation and mount an aggressive defence".
