Rulers of the seven Emirates attended the official 49th National Day celebrations in the capital on Wednesday evening.
Held under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the celebrations unfolded at Al Jubail Mangrove Park in Abu Dhabi, under the theme "Seeds of the Union".
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates,Their Highnesses the Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers and Sheikhs, were in attendance for the spectacular 40-minute show.
Broadcast live, the 'Seeds of the Union' show paid a moving tribute to the UAE’s Founding Fathers, whose long-term vision of harmony and solidarity led to the formal unification of the UAE.
The show took the form of a moving sculpture surrounded by sea and illuminated by visuals portraying themes inspired by the UAE's history and values.
