Abu Dhabi COVID-19 testing centres can now offer express PCR testing at a higher price.
According to a statement from the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, an express PCR test with results given in under two hours will cost AED 350. It'll cost AED 100 less if the results are given within 2-5 hours.
Home testing options are also available at an additional fee.
However, the authorities also clarified that the standard PCR testing with results in 24 hours will continue to be priced at AED 65 in the emirate.
The Department of Health reiterated that the cost of a PCR test can be covered by government-funded programmes in case a patient exhibits COVID-19 symptoms.
