Over 60 plaques will be installed at landmarks across the UAE capital to mark their status as modern heritage sites.
It's part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi's (DCT) Modern Heritage Conservation Initiative, which was announced in 2023 as part of their mandate to safeguard the Emirate’s archaeological sites and historic buildings.
Over 60 modern heritage sites will receive the plaques that are under immediate and unconditional protection across Abu Dhabi, and will reflect the ongoing efforts to protect and celebrate all facets of heritage.
The Cultural Foundation will be the first structure to bear the plaque as a symbol of the site’s cultural significance.
