Spas in Abu Dhabi's top hotels have been given permission to reopen provided they follow strict pandemic precautionary measures.
The Emirate's Department of Culture and Tourism stipulates that all guests, staff members and contractors must abide by the guidelines to protect the health and safety of the community.
The measures include monitoring staff and guests with a temperature scanner on arrival and the mandatory wearing of face masks.
All staff must be tested for COVID-19 prior to reopening and then biweekly.
Hotels have also been ordered to provide an isolation room to temporarily house suspected COVID-19 cases with a medical team on standby.
Guests, staff or contractors showing symptoms will be refused entry.
Bedding and towels must be changed after every use and appointments have to be scheduled to ensure the room is disinfected in-between customers.
