Don’t be surprised if you soon find a robot at your doorstep, carrying a package.

That’s because Dubai has become the first place outside the US to test the autonomous delivery device, Roxo.

It’s designed to travel on sidewalks and roadsides for delivering small shipments.

The battery-powered bot uses multiple cameras and AI algorithms to navigate its surroundings.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and FedEx Express have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Roxo to have its international debut in the emirate.

This autonomous personal delivery device will play a new role in the last-mile delivery challenge as it is designed to travel on sidewalks and along roadsides, safely delivering smaller shipments to customers’ homes and businesses,” said Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan, CEO of the RTA's Public Transport Agency.
