Dubai Humanitarian has delivered urgent aid to flood‑affected communities in Mozambique, following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
A Dubai Air Wing Boeing 747 cargo aircraft departed on Thursday carrying 91.6 tonnes of essential relief supplies to Maputo.
The shipment includes shelter materials, kitchen sets, sleeping mats, blankets, emergency health kits, mosquito nets and supplies for prefabricated shelters.
The aid, provided through the World Food Programme’s UN Humanitarian Response Depot, is expected to support more than 38,000 people affected by one of Mozambique’s worst flooding events.
Giuseppe Saba, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Humanitarian, said the operation reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to rapid emergency response and its ability to mobilise critical assistance through strong international partnerships, particularly as climate‑related crises become more frequent and severe.
Walid Ibrahim, UNHRD Network Coordinator at the World Food Programme expressed appreciation for the support, noting that the airlift enabled the delivery of lifesaving supplies to tens of thousands of people in urgent need.
The operation once again highlights Dubai Humanitarian’s role as a global hub for emergency response, using world‑class infrastructure, strategic partnerships, and operational readiness to deliver aid swiftly and at scale wherever crises occur.
