Dubai Police are urging the public to buy tickets for concerts, entertainment events, sports activities and travel only through official and authorised platforms.
The warning comes from the Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, as part of Dubai Police’s ongoing #BewareOfFraud campaign.
Police say scammers are increasingly using fake websites and unverified social media accounts to sell tickets that don’t exist — exploiting high demand and limited availability.
These platforms often copy the names or branding of well-known organisers to appear legitimate.
In many cases, victims are asked to transfer money or enter their bank card details, only to later discover that no ticket was issued, or that unauthorised charges were made to their accounts.
Dubai Police stress that tickets should only be purchased through official organiser websites or approved ticketing platforms.
They also advise checking website links carefully, using secure payment methods, and being cautious of deals that seem significantly cheaper than standard prices.
Anyone who comes across suspicious websites, fake platforms or attempted scams is urged to report them immediately through the Dubai Police smart app, by calling 901, or via the eCrime platform.
