WAM

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, has praised the efforts of Dubai Police in organising and hosting the UAE SWAT Challenge 2026 while attending the second day of the event.

During his visit on Sunday, His Highness witnessed the participation of some of the competing teams in the ‘Hostage Rescue’ challenge, one of the key components of the event.

Kazakhstan Team C secured first place for the hostage rescue test with 109 points, while Dubai Police A followed closely in second place on 108 points, and China Team B completed the podium in third place with 107 points.

The rescue challenge involved a sniper from each team engaging a target from atop a tower, followed by the entry of the remaining team members into the building while accurately engaging multiple targets and safely extracting a simulated hostage represented by a very heavy dummy.

Sheikh Mansoor commended the event for providing an exceptional platform for tactical teams and special units locally and internationally to exchange expertise and advance operational capabilities in efforts to strengthen their readiness for the evolving security challenges and risks facing communities.

Running until Wednesday, the event includes the participation of 109 tactical and special police teams representing 48 countries at the Training City in Al Ruwayyah, Dubai.

The challenge focuses on five key events, which include: Hostage Rescue, Assault Challenge, Officer Rescue, Tower Challenge, and Obstacle Course.
