His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has hailed Sharjah's Ruler for completing 50 years in serving the nation.
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi assumed his position as the Ruler of Sharjah on January 25, 1972.
Taking to Twitter on Monday, Sheikh Mohammed said, "Tomorrow, my brother, Sheikh Dr. Sultan, will complete 50 years since becoming the Ruler of Sharjah."
"He is a pillar of the Union, a beacon of science and culture and a major contributor to development and humanitarian programmes. May God protect him, his family, people and followers," added Sheikh Mohammed.
Under the rule of Sheikh Sultan, Sharjah has witnessed progress and prosperity in all areas.
He has been at the forefront of the emirate’s economic and social development, with a strong focus on education and culture.
