His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired a Cabinet meeting in Abu Dhabi on Monday, reflecting on two decades of government transformation.
Over the past 20 years, the UAE Cabinet has issued more than 16,000 decisions, mobilised thousands of teams and managed budgets exceeding AED 1 trillion to re-engineer government services, modernise legislation, and build advanced technological and investment infrastructure.
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE’s progress under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, noting that the country now leads globally in over 280 development indicators, from citizens’ wellbeing and education to healthcare, housing, trade, AI, space industries and economic competitiveness.
Reflecting on the past, His Highness said that twenty years ago the UAE set its sights on being among the world’s best, a goal that some doubted at the time.
Today, he said, the UAE’s development model is being studied and adopted by more than 55 countries worldwide.
Looking ahead, Sheikh Mohammed expressed optimism for the future, pledging continued progress under the Union and promising prosperity and a better life for generations to come.
