Man rescued from burning villa in Fujairah

A man trapped inside a burning house in Fujairah’s Al Bidya area has been rescued.

Teams from the Fujairah Civil Defence rushed to the site after being alerted at 12:20 pm on Saturday.

The man, who was moved to safety, was administered first-aid and checked by the paramedics.

"He was fine and managed to escape the blaze unharmed," a Civil Defence spokesperson added.

Officials said the fire gutted the bedroom and hallway of the house.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway, with authorities reminding residents to ensure that fire detectors and alarms are fitted and functioning.
