Dubai's toll gate operator Salik’s new dynamic pricing structure officially came into effect on Friday, charging drivers an additional 50 per cent during peak hours.
Toll gates in Dubai will now be AED 6 during peak hours, between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m, and 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Pricing will remain at AED 4 during off-peak hours and on Sundays, except during public holidays and major events.
Toll-free passage will be offered daily from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
During Ramadan, the hours between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. will be considered peak hours, while toll-free passage will be from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Starting in February, a new Congestion Pricing Policy will also charge AED 25 per hour for public paid parking spaces near event zones.
This policy will be rolled out initially around the Dubai World Trade Centre during major events.
In March, public parking fees in high-demand areas will increase to AED 6 per hour during the peak hours of 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The high-demand areas are near public transport hubs, business districts and popular shopping areas.
Regular parking spots will remain AED 4 per hour.
