Inmates in Dubai now have their very own sports centre.
According to Dubai Police, the six-month pilot project will allow them to participate in individual and team sports or use gym machines to workout.
The sports centre in Al Qusais Police Station is the first of its kind in the region and is part of the police force's Sports and Culture Initiative.
Officials also revealed that the initiative has helped inmates develop personal and social skills, as it serves as a rehabilitation centre.
Authorities clarified that they will have fitness facilities in all of the emirate's police stations and remand centres by the end of 2020.
