The UAE has offered work-from-home option for working mothers in federal entities as some schools switch to distance learning for the first two weeks of January.

Making the announcement on Thursday, the Federal Authority for Government and Human Resources (FAHR) said the option will be open to women employees whose children are enrolled in Grade 6 and below.

It will also be extended to women with children of determination or those suffering from chronic diseases.

Male workers can also opt for remote working module if their wives work in the health or education sectors.

The authority added that the option will be granted only if it does not affect the overall workflow of the department they are in.
