The UAE is committed to global food security and helping eradicate hunger caused by natural disasters and conflicts. Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development made the comments in a speech marking the United Nations’ World Food Day on October 16. She has urged the international community to intensify relief efforts aimed at tackling food shortages triggered by political unrest and security issues. Sheikha Lubna has also added that the UAE’s efforts to combat hunger follow directives of the country’s leadership and honour the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the nation.
