The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced that the UAE hosted the release of an American citizen who had been imprisoned in Afghanistan and his handover to the United States of America, in the presence of representatives of the relevant authorities from both countries.
The Ministry expressed its gratitude to the United States and Afghanistan for their confidence in the UAE and for choosing it as the location for the release operation, which embodies its role as a trusted mediator in supporting diplomatic and humanitarian solutions.
It reflects its approach based on promoting dialogue and international cooperation, and providing a supportive environment for constructive talks, noting its hope that these efforts will contribute to achieving security, stability and prosperity at the regional and international levels.
