UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has started his official visit to Cyprus with a reception ceremony held by President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia.
The ceremony included the national anthems of the UAE and Cyprus and an inspection of the honour guard, national news agency Wam reported.
His Highness met ministers and senior Cypriot officials and later, laid a wreath at the memorial of Archbishop Makarios III, the founding President of Cyprus.
Christodoulides welcomed the UAE delegation, which includes Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, and other senior UAE officials and ministers.
Earlier, the president of Cyprus, along with senior officials, had welcomed Sheikh Mohamed upon his arrival at Larnaca International Airport.
