The UAE’s Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation is hitting the road to raise awareness about the concept of nuclear energy. Abu Dhabi’s Western Region is the latest stop, with a public forum seeking to inform residents about the safe and peaceful use of nuclear power and emergency preparedness, as well as employment opportunities within the nuclear sector. Similar sessions have already been held in Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Al Ain. The first of four planned nuclear reactors in Abu Dhabi’s Barakah region is scheduled to start operating in 2017.
