UAE, Russian Presidents hold talks in Moscow

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks in Moscow aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the UAE and Russia and expanding cooperation across key sectors.

The talks took place at the Kremlin as part of Sheikh Mohamed's official visit to Russia.

Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in priority areas including trade, investment, technology, space and energy, underscoring the shared commitment of both countries to deepening their strategic partnership.

The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments.

Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to promoting peace and stability through dialogue and peaceful solutions, including efforts toward a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East based on the two-state solution.

His Highness highlighted the strong foundation of UAE–Russia relations, built on more than five decades of trust and cooperation, and pointed to recent economic agreements expected to boost trade, investment and sustainable development.

He also thanked Putin for supporting the UAE’s mediation efforts in prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine, reaffirming the UAE’s readiness to assist humanitarian initiatives.

Putin praised the UAE’s mediation role as well as efforts in hosting the trilateral talks involving Russia, Ukraine and the United States.

He also hosted a luncheon in honour of the visiting Emirati delegation.

An official reception ceremony was held at the Kremlin, and Sheikh Mohamed later departed Moscow, with military jets escorting his aircraft as it exited Russian airspace.
