US Exhibitors at the Dubai Airshow have presented an American flag which has flown on the moon to the UAE Space Agency. According to national news agency WAM, it’s from the Apollo 14 mission, which took place in 1971 – the year that the UAE was established. Launched in 2014, the UAE Space Agency plans a future mission to Mars, and joined the International Space Exploration Coordination Group last month – the first Arab nation to do so. The UAE also became a member of the UN Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space at the beginning of this month.
