The UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has called on Hajj pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia to take the flu jab and other essential vaccinations at least 15 days before travelling.
This is to ensure the vaccine's effectiveness and provide travellers with sufficient immunity.
Pilgrims should ensure that their doses are registered on the international vaccination card by accredited health centres.
The ministry also emphasised the importance of carrying essential medication, staying well-hydrated, following a healthy diet and taking precautions against extreme heat.
Those suffering from chronic diseases are also advised to conduct medical check-ups before flying out.
