The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather alert due to heavy rain, which is expected to continue across some parts of the UAE this week.

In a post on Instagram the NCM advised: "Precautions should be taken in case of heavy rain at times over some Eastern areas and advised to stay away from areas of accumulated rain."

The update comes as rain is expected in parts of the country until Thursday.

Heavy rain and hail was reported on the Dubai-Al Ain Road as well as the Masakin area of Al Ain on Monday. Al Ain will likely see more heavy rain this week the NCM says, and Abu Dhabi will experience showers.
