Just over half of UAE residents prefer heading to an amusement or water park for a staycation.

That makes them the most popular destinations for a local getaway, according to a new survey by YouGov.

Nature or wildlife retreats were the second most popular at 45 per cent, followed by adventure or sports-related breaks.

Just over a third of respondents said they enjoy luxury staycations and 28 per cent like going somewhere for a special event like a concert.

Wellness-related and spiritual breaks weren't quite as popular, rating at 19 per cent and 18 per cent respectively.

YouGov also listed the UAE's highest-rated amusement parks based on quality, satisfaction, customer impression and value, with AMG's Global Village claiming the top spot.
