England have missed out on top spot in the world T20 rankings and the chance to complete a Twenty20 International series whitewash over Australia.

The hosts lost the third and final match of the series by five wickets in Southampton.

Jonny Bairstow's 55 helped England post a total of 145-6, which the Aussies reached with three balls to spare.

Mitchell Marsh was declared man of the match for hitting an unbeaten 39, which helped set up the win.

England won the series 2-1 overall but could not replace Australia at the top of the world rankings.
