England on top in opening Ashes test

England have the upper-hand after day two of the opening Ashes test in Birmingham.

The hosts trail by just 17 runs in their first innings after opening batsman Rory Burns made a gritty maiden century.

England ended the second day's play on 267 for 4 in reply to Australia's 284 all out.

Day three gets underway at 2 pm UAE time on Saturday.
