England are through to the knockout stages of the Women's World Cup.

They beat Argentina 1-0 as Jodie Taylor found the back of the net in the 61st minute.

A win or draw for England in their next match against Japan on Wednesday will see them seal top spot in Group D.

Elsewhere Scotland lost 2-1 to Japan, leaving their hopes of progressing to the knockout stages hanging by a thread.

However there was more joy for Italy as they thrashed Jamaica 5-0 to secure their place in the last 16.
