Football tournaments for under-11s suspended in UAE

WAM

The UAE Football Association (UAEFA) has decided to cancel football tournaments for Under-11s.

That's according to a circular issued by the General Sports Authority, which also announced the cancellation of Cubs U-12 competitions that have players aged 11 and below.

They have also limited the "Cubs U-13 competition to players born in 2008 only".

According to communication sent out to parents, the decision follows instructions from the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) to curb the spread of coronavirus.

It added that no spectators and no gatherings of more than 40 people at a time will be allowed.

They said group trainings will be maintained at a 10:1 ration per group, and no "overseas camping or training will be allowed without prior approval".
